A destination for gaming

Target is off to a holiday head start this week with a major promotional push behind games and the gaming industry’s hottest new technology. Microsoft’s new controller-free gaming console known as Kinect hits the market this Thursday, and Target made sure to let customers know it will have the product in stock on Thursday, Nov. 4. A half page was devoted to the item this week in the retailer’s circular, which featured on the cover a “buy two, get one” free video game promotion.

Once again this season, the gaming, electronics and entertainment categories will be popular holiday destinations and through a combination of frequent promotions and enhanced store environments Target has sought to position its stores as a destination.
