New York City NCR Corp. said it is holding steady on its marketing and licensing alliance with Blockbuster, which has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. NCR owns and operates nearly 7,000 kiosks throughout the United States under the Blockbuster Express brand, and continues to grow its kiosk network, officials said. NCR uses its own capital to manage and operate its kiosks and source movies.
“Blockbuster has been the pre-eminent brand in the entertainment business for more than 20 years and that brand is a tremendous asset that continues to resonate with consumers as a great movie experience,” said Justin Hotard, VP and general manager for NCR Entertainment. “Our relationship with Blockbuster continues and we welcome their ‘business as usual’ approach in creating demand for convenient access to entertainment.”
