Los Gatos, Calif. Netflix and Apple are gearing up to make the movie-rental service to be available on the iPhone this summer.
The announcement was made by Apple CEO Steve Jobs and Netflix CEO Reed Hastings at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference.
Hastings said the free app will offer the same service available now on the iPad, laptops and HDTVs.
Among the features is one that allows viewers to stop watching on one device and pick up where they left off on another. It will allow searching for the entire Netflix streaming library for movies and playback will work using either a Wi-Fi or 3G network.
