OAKLAND, Calif. — Ecologic Brands, makers of America’s first molded paper bottles, has named Alan Murray, CEO of NextFoods and Dr. Steve Miller, chief innovation catalyst at P&G, to its advisory board.
“As we transition from a startup to a scaled, packaging manufacturing company, we are pleased to welcome Mr. Murray and Dr. Meller to our board,” Ecologic Brands CEO and founder Julie Corbett said. “Today's announcement is a testament to the growing demand for packaging that use our planet’s limited resources more efficiently. Alan Murray, the former CEO of Tetra Pak North America, has more than 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. Tetra Pak is the world leader of aseptic processing and packaging systems for the food industry, with sales of approximately $13 billion. Murray also held leadership roles with Tetra Pak in Southern Africa, Central Europe, and the United States, as well as marketing roles at Unilever in Africa and Europe. In his current role at NextFoods, Murray spearheads all business development, strategic planning, and management of the GoodBelly brand, and played an integral role in the founding of the company.
Dr. Steve Meller has more than 25 years of technical and innovation knowledge experience, particularly in open innovation and sustainability. In his role at P&G, he serves as chief innovation catalyst and has been responsible for leading the global technology innovators and entrepreneurs “community of experts”, the North American and Latin America open innovation hubs, and several key business and technology platforms across the company. P&G has been recognized as one of the most innovative companies in the world during the last decade. In addition, Dr. Meller has been a key driver on the technology strategy approaches for P&G’s sustainability and industrial biotechnology programs and its impact on global consumers.
