New York – Nordstrom is expanding a trial of marking select items in its stores that receive the most pins on Pinterest with small “P” logos. As reported by BusinessWeek, Nordstrom is taking the pilot from two to 13 locations. The trail will end just before the company’s signature anniversary sale later this month.
Nordstrom gives store associates access to an online dashboard that notifies which items the store has in stock are most pinned in their geographic area. The department store retailer has 4.5 million followers on the Pinterest social network. By comparison, Macy's has 47,000 Pinterest followers, followed by Barneys (44,000), and Kolh's (20,500), according to the report.
