Granville, N.Y. A survey conducted by an outdoor furniture manufacturer found that 44% of shoppers who agree they want to splurge, want to do so on their homes.
Telescope Casual Furniture’s National Shopper Survey was conducted by WSL Strategic Retail, which queried 1,500 adults between April 3 and April 13. Respondents said the most desirable home splurges were on decorations and/or painting their homes, furnishings for the yard and/or patio and appliances.
“Specialty home retailers need to seize every opportunity to capture those shoppers who have the urge to splurge,” said Telescope Casual CEO Kathy Juckett.
Juckett recommended that retailers drive sales with in-store merchandising tools that entice shoppers.
