New York -- Uniqlo on Friday will open its largest mall store in the world, in Westfield Garden State Plaza, Paramus, N.J. The two-level, 43,000-sq.-ft. store will serve as the prototype for the Japanese retailer¹s U.S. mall expansion.
The new Uniqlo replaces an Old Navy store and has its own separate entrance to the parking lot as well as a traditional mall entrance. A large LCD monitor display at the mall entrance will feature special interactive games and other content to engage shoppers.
With its sleek, modern design, the Paramus Uniqlo recalls the look and feel of the chain’s Fifth Avenue flagship. And similar to the flagship, it has lots of visual stimulation, with some 38 LCD/LED monitors and 200 mannequins.
As it did when opening its Manhattan locations, Uniqlo is celebrating the new store with an array of promotional prices. The prices, which will also be offered in the company’s other stores, include ultra-light down outerwear for $49.90 (regularly $69.90), fleece Jackets for $9.90 (reg. $19.90) and women¹s cashmere sweaters at $49.90 (reg. $89.9o)
The new Uniqlo joins the company’s three other U.S. locations, all of which are in Manhattan. A fifth U.S. store will open on Oct. 5, in San Francisco.
