Lenexa, Kan. Bi-Lo has deployed Balance Innovations’ VeriBalance cash office-management solution to optimize the cash office workflow in all stores.
“We realized a significant reduction in cash office hours, which enabled us to reallocate those resources to better serve our customers at our service desks and self-checkouts,” said Gail Moore, senior manager of customer service and store support for Bi-Lo, Mauldin, N.C., which operates 207 supermarkets in South Carolina; North Carolina; Georgia; and Tennessee. “We also realized an improvement in our cash losses.”
VeriBalance also allowed Bi-Lo to exercise greater control in a lane-accountable environment by reconciling all lanes, self-checkouts, and the cash office daily, while still creating significant weekly time savings for the company. Daily transactions such as pickups and loans are easily performed by any cash office teammate throughout the day, and cash shortages have been significantly reduced with the auditing and reporting features VeriBalance offers.
