Oakville, Ontario Tim Hortons Inc. and Cold Stone Creamery parent Kahala Corp. announced Thursday they would expand their partnership to create co-branded stores at locations in Canada.
The two companies said earlier this year that they would create up to 100 co-branded stores -- 50 from each chain -- that will feature both ice-cream and coffee-shop offerings.
On Thursday, they added six Tim Hortons restaurants in Canada to the initiative.
Coffee and baked-goods chain Tim Hortons operates more than 500 locations in the United States.
Existing Cold Stone and Tim Hortons locations in Michigan, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, Maine and Connecticut were considered as places to offer both brands, the companies said in the initial announcement.
