Los Angeles Arden Group, owner of southern California supermarket chain Gelsons Markets, said its second-quarter earnings slipped because of soft same-store sales.
Profit declined to $4.7 million from $6.6 million a year ago.
Sales for the quarter ended July 4 declined to $107.9 million from $116.6 million. Same-store sales declined 7.5% for the 13 weeks ended July 4.
