San Bernardino, Calif. — Stater Bros. has announced the opening of a new supermarket in Moreno Valley, Calif., on Nov. 13. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held in the parking lot at 8:15 a.m.
The 43,670-sq.-ft. store will be the fourth location for Stater Bros. in Moreno Valley.
The new store features a number of environmentally friendly practices including LED lighting in signage and refrigerated display cases, plus the use of glass doors and curtains in refrigerated cases. Together, these measures will reduce energy usage by 60%.
The lighting system also uses dimming ballasts, energy efficient lamps and occupancy sensors. An energy management system controls refrigeration, HVAC, demand response and lighting.
The company currently operates 166 supermarkets.
