  • Tile Shop expands in Dallas-Fort Worth area

    Minneapolis – The Tile Shop is expanding its presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area with a new store in Southlake, Texas. The new 18,615-sq.-ft. Southlake location is The Tile Shop’s third store in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (including stores in Plano and Dallas), and the company’s fifth store in Texas (Dallas, Plano, Southlake, Austin, San Antonio).

  • Kmart to close two Philadelphia stores

    New York -- Kmart will shutter two locations in the Philadelphia area this spring, Philadelphia Business Journal said. The locations, at The Gallery and at 900 Orthodox St., will close in late April.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts plans 13 stores in Oklahoma City

    Canton. Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts has signed a multi-unit store development agreement with existing franchise group, OKD Holdings, to develop 13 new restaurants throughout Oklahoma City. The first of the planned restaurants will open in 2015.

    Together, this team led by second generation Dunkin' Donuts franchisee Misha Goli and his partners will manage and oversee the company's daily operations for each restaurant. Goli currently owns four restaurants throughout Oklahoma City.

  • Tanger Outlets to develop Savannah, Ga., center

    Greensboro, N.C. - Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc. plans to develop Tanger Outlets Savannah, in partnership with Georgia development firm Ben Carter Enterprises. Phase One will deliver approximately 400,000 sq. ft. of gross leasable space to the market and the center is expected to house more than 90 upscale brand name and designer outlet stores, with additional outparcel development opportunities.  

  • R.P. Wurster buys Plainfield, Ind., center

    Chicago  — R.P. Wurster has acquired the 49,967-sq.-ft. Plainfield Commons in Plainfield, Ind., for $6.35 million. The 100% leased community shopping center features anchor tenants Dollar Tree and Shoe Carnival. Shadow anchors include Target, Kohl’s, Pier One Imports and PetSmart.

  • Walgreens re-opens NYC flagship in Union Square

    New York — Walgreens will host a grand re-opening of its 24/7 flagship store in Union Square, Manhattan, on Jan. 23. The store opened originally in 2001.

    Walgreens is the nation’s largest drugstore chain with fiscal 2013 sales of $72 billion. The company operates 8,200 drug stores in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

  • ProHealth to Glen Oaks in Queens, N.Y.

    New York — ProHealth has signed a lease for a 10,913-sq.-ft. location at an endcap of the 187,650-sq.-ft. Glen Oaks Shopping Center in the Glen Oaks section of Queens, according to The Feil Organization, the center’s owner and manager. The lease brings the open-air center to 99% leased.

    The medical services provider is renovating the façade and expanding the existing space to increase its frontage on Union Turnpike. ProHealth expects to open in March.

  • Nordstrom Rack to open two new stores in DDR centers

    Beachwood, Ohio — Nordstrom Rack will open locations at Lake Brandon Plaza in Brandon, Fla., and Harbison Court in Columbia, S.C., this fall. DDR Corp. owns and manages both centers.

  • Krispy Kreme plans Southern California expansion

    Winston-Salem, N.C. — Krispy Kreme has announced a development agreement with existing franchisee Great Circle Family Foods to develop 20 new doughnut shops in Southern California. Over the next seven years. Great Circle currently operates 11 Krispy Kreme shops in Southern Calif., making the company Krispy Kreme’s third largest domestic franchisee.

    Krispy Kreme can be found in over 800 locations in more than 20 countries around the world.
