  • General Growth names fearless fashionista blogger

    Los Angeles — Self-proclaimed beauty and fashion junky, Jennifer Geisman, creator of Beautygrl.com, has begun writing a new fashion and lifestyle blog, “Fearless Fashionista,” for four Southern California retail centers, owned and managed by General Growth Properties.

    The centers include Galleria at Tyler, Glendale Galleria, Northridge Fashion Center and Otay Ranch Town Center. The blog is available at each center’s website.

  • Crazy 8 signs into Alameda South Shore Center

    Alameda, Calif. — Crazy 8 has signed a 10-year lease for a 3,117-sq.-ft. space at the Alameda South Shore Center in Alameda, Calif. The deal will bring the 594,000 open-air lifestyle center up to an occupancy rate of 92%. The new store is slated to open this fall.

    SRS Real Estate Partners represented Crazy 8 in the transaction. Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank represented Jamestown, the shopping center’s owner.

  • Dunkin' Donuts to open seven new Wisconsin locations

    Canton, Mass. -- Dunkin' Donuts announced the signing of a multi-unit store development agreement with existing franchise group Travel Mart for seven new restaurants in La Crosse and Eau Claire, Wis.

    The first restaurant is planned to open in 2014 and the remainder by 2020.

  • H.H. Gregg opens new Indiana store

    Indianapolis – H.H. Gregg is opening a new store in Bloomington, Ind. on Aug. 15. The new location at 240 North Gates Street will replace the previous location at 606 West Gourley Pike.

  • Toys ‘R’ Us announces 2013 global expansion plans; 100-plus stores on tap

    Wayne, N.J. – Toys “R” Us on Wednesday unveiled its global growth for 2013, with the planned opening of more than 100 stores, including new locations, the relocation and conversion of 14 stores to its side-by-side format, and 22 new licensed stores. The openings represent the net addition of over 900,000 sq. ft. of retail space to the company’s store portfolio.

  • REI plans fall 2014 opening in Knoxville

    Seattle -- REI announced plans to open a store in Knoxville, Tenn., in fall 2014.

    The 23,500-sq.-ft. store, at Papermill Plaza, will include a bike shop that provides expert assembly and repair services, and a community space to host outdoor-related classes, presentations and events.

  • Starbucks plans to double Clover locations

    Seattle – Starbucks Coffee Company is opening its 500th location featuring Clover brewing, with plans to double the number of Clover locations globally by the end of 2014. Starbucks has offered its Starbucks Reserve coffees, a line of rare and exotic small batch single origin coffees brewed with the single-cup Clover system, since 2010.

  • WinCo Foods opens in Bellingham, Wash.

    Boise, Idaho — WinCo Foods will open a 90,000-sq.-ft. discount supermarket in Bellingham, Wash., on Thursday.

    The new store will initially employ 171. The employee-owned discount food chain operates 88 stores and typically ranks as the low priced leader in the markets where it operates.

     

  • New eateries sign into Village on Pooler Parkway

    Pooler, Ga. — The Olive Garden, Panera Bread, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Jersey Mikes Subs and Jalapenos Mexican Grill have all inked deals with GBT Realty Corporation for space in Village on Pooler Parkway, a 143,000-sq.-ft. shopping center now under development in Pooler, Ga.

    The Panera shop will occupy a freestanding building with a drive-through, making it one of the first locations in the market to feature Panera’s new prototype.

  • Hampton Roads gets two more Firehouse Subs

    Virginia Beach, Va. — Two Firehouse Subs shops opened Monday, an 1,800-sq.-ft. location in Virginia Beach’s Strawbridge area and a 2,400-sq.-ft. location in Hampton’s Coliseum Central.

    Divaris Real Estate represented the sub shop in negotiations for each location.
