  • Levin Management announces new assistant VP marketing

    North Plainfield, N.J. -- Levin Management has promoted Melissa Sievwright to assistant VP marketing from director of marketing. Sievwright joined the company as associate marketing director in 2010.

    When she moved up to director of marketing, she took on the firm’s corporate branding efforts, implemented promotional campaigns for client properties and supported Levin’s efforts to market vacancies within the company’s 90 shopping centers.

  • First Field & Stream specialty store to open Aug. 16

    Cranberry Township, Pa. -- The Dick’s Sporting Goods new Field & Stream specialty concept will make its debut next month at 1000 Cranberry Square Drive in Cranberry Township, Pa., near Dick’s headquarters in Pittsburgh.

  • Divaris renews five Hampton Roads leases

    Virginia Beach, Va. -- Divaris Real Estate has represented the landlords in the renewal of five leases covering more than 18,500 sq. ft. in Hampton Roads, Va., retail properties.

    Two of the leases were with Willow Oaks Associates, landlord of Willow Oaks Village Square Shopping Center in Hampton. The City of Hampton renewed a 7,778-sq.-ft. space, and Virginia ABC renewed its 3,300-sq.-ft. lease.

    Mattress Firm renewed for 3,982 sq. ft. with JLP Chesapeake, owner of the Crossways Shopping Center in Chesapeake.

  • CBRE-Grossman to lease Mohegan Sun in Palmer, Mass.

    Boston -- Finard Properties has appointed CBRE-Grossman Retail Advisors as the exclusive leasing agent for the retail, restaurant and entertainment component of the proposed Mohegan Sun Massachusetts destination resort casino in Palmer, Mass.

    The $1 billion project will feature two hotels, an aqua entertainment park, casino gaming and branded retail stores and restaurants.

  • Fort Worth’s West 7th inks two new leases

    Fort Worth, Texas -- Brewsters Burger Bar and Chiro One Wellness Centers have leased space in the Fort Worth mixed-use development of West 7th, according to Cypress Equities, the property’s developer.

    Brewsters Burger Bar will open a 2,969-sq.-ft. location in December of this year.

    Chiro One Wellness Centers will open a 2,563-sq.-ft. location in fourth quarter 2013. It will be the tenth Chiro One in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.

     

  • Famous Footwear renews at Florida’s Kendall Village

    Miami, Fla. -- Famous Footwear has renewed its 8,000-sq.-ft. lease at Kendall Village Center in Miami, Fla., according to Berkowitz Development Group www.berkowitzdevelopment.com. The transaction maintains the 95% occupancy level at the 426,000-sq.-ft. open-air shopping and office destination. Retail space totals 276,000 sq. ft.

    Major tenants include the Regal 16-plex Stadium Seating Theater, Old Navy, Gap, Nova Southeastern University, Pier 1 Imports and LA Fitness.

     

  • BJ’s Restaurants opens in Jacksonville, Fla.

    Huntington Beach, Calif. -- BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse has opened its 12th Florida restaurant in the Parkway Shops in Jacksonville. The 8,500-sq.-ft. location will accommodate approximately 280 patrons. The design includes a 103-in. plasma display and several high-definition flat panel televisions.

    BJ’s Restaurants has opened six new restaurants so far in 2013. The company plans to open 11 more before the end of the year. Overall, the company owns and operates 135 restaurants.

     

  • Epic Stores leases Phoenix big-box

    Phoenix -- GDC/RE has leased a 47,036 former Phoenix Safeway to Epic Stores. The transaction marked GDC/RE’s tenth lease of more than 10,000 sq. ft. in the last 12 months.

    “Arizona has been seen as the poster child of big-box vacancy in recent years,” says Joe Doucett, co-founder and designated broker of GDC/RE. “Our firm has re-tenanted every anchor and other large-format space in our portfolio.”
