  • CBRE brokers sale of Houston-area center

    Houston -- CBRE’s national retail investment group has arranged the sale of Sheldon Forest Shopping Center in Channelview, Texas, east of Houston, on behalf of Weingarten Realty Investors.

    Gerland’s Food Fair anchors the 97,380-sq.-ft. center. Major tenants include Family Dollar and Burke’s Outlet. Both Phase I and II of the center are 100% occupied.

    Capcor Partners purchased the property for an undisclosed price.

     

  • West Elm makes Missouri debut in St. Louis

    Brooklyn, N.Y. -- West Elm is opening its first location in Missouri – at the St. Louis Galleria.

    The 8,385-sq.-ft. store, slated to open in July, will incorporate works by local artists as part of its plan to support St. Louis talent.

    “Our customers are as passionate about supporting artists in their local communities as we are at West Elm,” said Jim Brett, president of West Elm. “We are proud to be incorporating some of St. Louis’ most talented artists into the assortment for our new store.”

  • Bonefish Grill enters Massachusetts market in Burlington, Mass.

    Boston -- Bonefish Grill has signed up for 4,614 sq. ft. at the Wayside Shopping Center in Burlington, Mass., the retailer’s first Massachusetts location, according to The Wilder Cos., Wayside’s leasing, management and development firm.

    Part of the multi-phase revitalization of the open-air center, Bonefish anticipates opening in late fall of this year.

  • Cincinnati’s Colerain Towne Centre sells for $30 million

    Cincinnati, Ohio -- Kimco Realty has sold Colerain Towne Centre, a 400,000-sq.-ft. Cincinnati power center, for $30 million, according to Mid-America Real Estate Corp.’s investment sales group, which represented Kimco in the transaction in cooperation with Anchor Associates. The buyer is a private real estate company.

  • Saint Petersburg Global signs for first Manhattan store

    New York -- Saint Petersburg Global Trade House, the oldest Russian book, music video, toy and souvenir retailer in the United States, has signed a lease for its first Manhattan location — in the NoMad neighborhood, according to Winick Realty Group, which represented the retailer.

    The 10-year lease includes a 1,051-sq.-ft. ground floor and a 653-sp.-ft. mezzanine. The landlord, an entity owned and managed under a partnership controlled by The Feil Organization, was represented in-house.

  • Dunkin’ Donuts opens 500th NYC restaurant

    New York -- The largest national retailer in New York City by store count, Dunkin’ Donuts has just inched further ahead with the opening of its 500th city location, a co-branded restaurant with Baskin-Robbins.

    Located in Times Square, the restaurant features new Dunkin’ Donuts’ and Baskin-Robbins’ design concepts such as digital menu displays, updated furniture and lighting, electrical outlets, bar top areas for smartphones and computers and free Wi-Fi Internet access.

  • Dining alfresco at the mall

    Santa Clara, Calif. -- Most malls have food courts. Westfield Valley Fair Mall in California’s Silicon Valley has begun construction of a multi-million dollar dining terrace that will feature indoor and alfresco seating.

    Where in Silicon Valley is the mall? It straddles the border between two noted Silicon Valley cities: Santa Clara and San Jose.

  • Sportsman’s Warehouse signs at Washington State Mall

    Wenatchee, Wash. -- Sportsman’s warehouse has signed a lease for a 49,000-sq.-ft. former Sears location at the Wenatchee Valley Mall in Wenatchee, Wash., according to Vintage Real Estate, which brokered the deal.

    The new Sportsman’s will open in the spring of 2014. Sears will open a 10,813-sq.-ft. new format store in the mall.

  • Marcus & Millichap names regional director

    Calabasas, Calif. -- Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services has named Paul Loubet as western region director of the national retail group.

    Based in the firm’s Newport Beach, Calif., office, Loubet will direct more than 100 investment sales professionals operating from more than 25 offices comprising Marcus & Millichap’s western region.
