  • Upscale Maryland outlet center on the boards

    Clarksburg, Md. -- Tanger Factory Outlet Centers and Peterson Cos. said Wednesday that the pair will develop an upscale outlet center in Clarksburg, Md.

    The new outlet center, currently in the pre-development stage, will be branded as Tanger Outlets and located 27 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. and 36 miles west of Baltimore.

  • Build-A-Bear Workshop to open 20-25 stores in 2013

    St. Louis -- Build-A-Bear Workshop said Monday that it will open 20 to 25 stores in 2013, all under the newly introduced store design.

    The retailer opened six stores under the new design in fall 2012, and said the success of the stores prompted an escalated rollout.

    The first three stores to open in 2013 are at the Mall of Georgia in Atlanta on April 26; at Orland Square in Chicago on May 3; and at Northshore Mall in Peabody, Mass. on May 10.

  • EWB Development names former Coach exec as partner

    Essex, Vt. -- EWB Development announced the appointment of Daniel J. Cochran as a new partner and the head of the new Tenant Representation division at EWB.

    Cochran’s 25-year retail and outlet background includes Phillips Van Heusen – where he was SVP of real estate and legal – and Coach, where he served as SVP of real estate and construction.

  • Crumbs Bake Shop debuts at Cherry Hill Mall

    Cherry Hill, N.J. -- Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) said that Crumbs Bake Shop recently opened its first area location at Cherry Hill Mall, in Cherry Hill, N.J.

    The 200-sq.-ft. foot kiosk is a dessert supplement to major Cherry Hill Mall dining players such as Grand Lux Café, Bobby’s Burger Palace, California Pizza Kitchen, Maggiano’s Little Italy, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, and Bahama Breeze.

  • T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods to open at Shops at La Palmera

    Corpus Christi, Texas -- Fort Worth, Texas-based Trademark Property Co. announced that TJX Cos. concepts T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods will open this fall at The Shops at La Palmera, a 200,000-sq.-ft. outdoor shopping center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

    Construction has already begun on the 44,750-sq.-ft. space accommodating the two new stores, which will be located adjacent to one another, each with a separate store entrance. The Shops at La Palmera store marks T.J. Maxx’s first in Corpus Christi. HomeGoods is new to market also.

  • Upscale men’s salon opens at Rice Village

    Houston -- UCR Houston said that The Boardroom for Men will open at Rice Village, in Houston, a shopping center owned by Rice Properties.

    The 2,100-sq.-ft. upscale men’s salon is slated to open June 2013. It will be the chain’s first Houston location.

     

  • Market Street Place to launch construction

    San Francisco -- Dallas-based Cypress Equities said Monday that construction is about to begin on the site of what will become Market Street Place, a 250,000-sq.-ft. retail center scheduled to open in 2015 and co-developed by Cypress Equities and The Carlyle Group.

    Market Street Place will be a six-level, urban retail redevelopment designed by Gensler’s San Francisco architectural team.

  • Haven Riverfront to open at Edgewater Harbor

    Edgewater, N.J. -- North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management Corp. said that Haven Riverfront Restaurant & Bar will open a 6,500-sq.-ft. location at Edgewater Harbor, in Edgewater, N.J.

    The new restaurant, opening in June, becomes the latest eatery to join the dining component at the mixed-use development on Hudson County’s Gold Coast, according to Levin, the exclusive retail leasing agent for the property.

  • Plaza at Preston Center to unveil new tenants, expansion

    Dallas -- Venture Commercial said Monday that The Plaza at Preston Center, in Dallas, will see the Texas debuts of Sprinkles Ice Cream and True Food Kitchen this spring, and international retailers LUBLU Kira Plastinina and Aftershock London have selected The Plaza for their flagship U.S. stores.

    Venture, which serves as the exclusive broker for the lifestyle center located in the heart of the Park City neighborhood, also said that Sprinkles Cupcakes and Calypso St. Barth are expanding and/or relocating their stores at The Plaza.

  • Edible Arrangements looks to expand in Pacific Northwest

    Wallingford, Conn. -- Edible Arrangements has set its sights on the Pacific Northwest for an aggressive expansion campaign designed to open as many as 30 new locations in the near future.
     
    Edible Arrangements already has 10 locations in Oregon and Washington and sees significant opportunity for growth, which will be accomplished through franchising. Most of the growth will be focused in the Seattle, Tacoma and Portland areas and the company is currently seeking franchisees with the resources to open multiple locations.
