Amazon launching same-day delivery for PacSun, GNC, select other retailers

same-day delivery
Amazon is now offering same-day delivery from select retailers to Prime members.

Amazon is expanding its Prime same-day delivery benefit to some other retail brands.

The company is offering same-day delivery from select PacSun, Diesel, Superdry and GNC stores to Prime members in certain zip codes of more than 10 U.S. cities, including in and around Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Las Vegas, Miami, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Seattle, and Washington D.C. (Some stores also offer the option for in-store pickup.)

The service is free for members who spend $25 or more, or $2.99 if they spend less than $25.

To take advantage of the new service, Prime members in the eligible ZIP codes use the Amazon app or Amazon.com to order from the curated selection of retail stores in their area, and select same-day delivery. Amazon sends the order to the store and the retail employee fulfills it from the in-store inventory. An Amazon delivery partner picks up the order from the store and delivers it to the customer.

Amazon is launching the service as other retailers continue to ramp up their same-day delivery offerings and as some online delivery platforms, notably Instacart, add more brands to their same-day delivery offerings.

“The expansion of Amazon’s Same-Day Delivery to include beloved brands delivered directly from nearby retail locations is just another way we are offering customers even greater selection, at faster speeds,” said Sarah Mathew, director of Amazon Delivery Experience. “We are excited to see this new model come to life and look forward to adding more brands, stores, and locations to the program.”

Additional retailers will be joining the service in the upcoming months, including Sur La Table and 100% Pure, Amazon said. More cities will be added as well.
