7-Eleven acquires 46-store portfolio in South Carolina

BY Katherine Boccaccio

Dallas — 7-Eleven announced Monday it has closed on the acquisition of 46 Hickory Point and Palms Stores from CB Mart.

While the terms of this particular deal haven’t been made public, the acquisition boosts 7-Eleven’s Carolinas store count to more than 100 and puts the c-store operator solidly on track to continue its accelerated growth plan. 7-Eleven earlier acquired 55 Sam’s Mart and 13 Fast Track stores in the two-state area.

"7-Eleven is committed to building its presence in the Carolinas and bringing our proprietary products to the acquired Hickory Point and Palms locations as the stores are converted to the 7-Eleven brand," said Stan Reynolds, 7-Eleven EVP and CFO.

Stater Bros. breaks ground on larger California supermarket

BY Katherine Boccaccio

San Bernardino, Calif. — Stater Bros. announced Monday the construction start to its newest and most modern supermarket, slated to open in the Redlands Village Shopping Center — a grocery-anchored center being developed by Upland, Calif.-based Lewis Retail Centers in San Bernardino, Calif.

The 44,000-sq.-ft. store will replace a nearby store that is half that size. The larger format will allow wider aisles, outdoor seating and a variety of departments and amenities, and is slated to open in September.
