Ann Inc. receives workplace engagement award
New York – Ann Inc., the parent company of Ann Taylor and Loft, has been named a recipient of the 2014 Gallup Great Workplace Award. This award recognizes organizations around the world for having the most highly engaged work environments.
The Gallup Great Workplace Award is based on workplace research and is presented to companies who have achieved excellence for their ability to create an engaged workplace culture. To be considered for this award, Ann Inc. greatly exceeded the requirements established by Gallup and was recognized for their success in key areas including: leadership strategy and philosophy; accountability and performance; and communication and learning platforms.
Belk announces executive promotions
Charlotte, N.C. — Southern department store chain Belk has promoted Jan Clevenger from chair of the company’s Western Division in Birmingham, Alabama, to the position of executive VP and general merchandise manager over Men’s, Home and Kids.
David Luoma has been promoted to succeed Clevenger in the Western Division chair position.
Clevenger launched her retail career with Macy’s in store management, and joined Belk in 2000. Luoma joined Belk in 2011 as senior VP and director of stores for the Belk Southern Division based in Atlanta. Prior to Belk, Luoma was a senior VP and director of stores for Macy’s and May Department Stores.
Raley’s Supermarkets, NRG eVgo deliver Bay Area’s first electric vehicle drivers
West Sacramento, Calif. — NRG eVgo and Raley’s Supermarkets are introducing the first electric vehicle fast-charging station at a retail location in Northern California that features both industry standard fast chargers: CHAdeMO and SAE Combo.
Located at Nob Hill supermarket in Mountain View, this Freedom Station is the first to incorporate the new SAE Combo fast charge standard being introduced on many new EVs at a Northern California retail location.
The Raley’s Nob Hill Freedom Station in Mountain View supports all EV drivers — regardless of what kind of electric vehicle they drive — and expands the NRG eVgo network to 16 fast charge sites in the Bay Area.
"We are installing these convenient chargers as a service to our very sustainably-minded customers," said Meg Burritt, Raley’s Director of Wellness & Sustainability. "This new opportunity to recharge your EV while shopping for groceries at our store is our way of saying thank you for choosing an EV."
