Api(+) expands staff

Tampa, Fla. — Retail architecture and design firm api(+) announced the appointment of John Ziebarth as studio director for its food service group. He was most recently brand design manager for the specialty restaurant group at Darden Restaurants, Orlando, Fla.

As studio director for api(+)’s food service group, Ziebarth, a registered architect, will lead brand strategy design, construction documentation and construction administration services. He brings 22 years of professional experience in branding and project management for high-end restaurants including Eddie V’s and The Capital Grille, as well as food retail, hospitality, and specialty retail.

Miller Zell expands design team

Atlanta — Atlanta based retail design agency, Miller Zell, has expanded its design team and appointed Tom Ertler as as senior VP/design director leading environmental design initiatives. He joins the company from his most recent role as a founding partner with Authentic Retail Group, Pasadena, Calif., an integrated brand development firm. Prior to that, he was creative director at Envision, the full-service environmental design studio of Palladeo.

In addition, Cecilia Sortino has joined the firm as a graphic design director and Rajiv Patel has been hired as an environmental designer. Florin Pienariu and Alex Wiedenmann have joined the firm as industrial design engineers.

“We’re excited about aligning the right talent with our creative culture,” said Horace Hume, senior VP/design director and manager of Miller Zell’s Design Group. The new hires join Miller Zell to support continued growth in the financial services market as well as significant new business in other retail sectors.”
