Art Institute of St. Louis to open at Streets of St. Charles
St. Charles, Mo. — Peoria, Ill.-based Cullinan Properties announced that The Art Institute of St. Louis has signed a lease and will be opening a school at the new Streets of St. Charles mixed-use development, with classes scheduled to begin in July.
The development, located in St. Charles/Metro St. Louis, is currently delivering spaces to all of its phase one tenancy.
The Art Institute of St. Louis is one of The Art Institutes, a system of more than 50 educational institutions located throughout North America.
Upon completion, The Streets of St. Charles will total more than 1 million sq. ft. with uses such as retail, restaurants, entertainment, office, hotel and residential. The initial Phase I building, which opened May 1, is a three-story structure of approximately 100,000 sq. ft. Tenants joining The Art Institute of St. Louis in Phase I include: Tucanos Brazilian Grill, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, The Streets of St. Charles Dental, Massage LuXe, Wamhoff Financial Planning and Accounting Services, Brown Smith Wallace, and Cole & Associates.
The Phase I retail, restaurant and office uses will be opening beginning in May and continuing through the summer. Phase II construction has already begun on a 400,000-sq.-ft. building including retail, entertainment and residential, opening fall 2013.
Bed Bath & Beyond to open at Village South at Waugh Chapel
Washington, D.C. — Sax Realty said that Bed Bath & Beyond will open a new 28,000-sq.-ft. store at Village South at Waugh Chapel, the largest power strip being built in the Washington, D.C., area.
The store is slated to open in the fall.
The one million-sq.-ft. mixed-use development, developed by Greenberg Gibbons, is also anchored by Wegman’s, Target, Regal Cinema, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Petco.
Cullinan Properties names new team members
Peoria, Ill. — Christopher M. West, COO and partner of Cullinan Properties, announced several additions to the Cullinan team.
Shawn Luesse has been hired as project manager for the Streets of St. Charles mixed-use development in metro St. Louis. Luesse was previously director of development for the G & T Group, based in Champaign, Ill.
Seth Marks has joined the team as leasing representative, assisting with the retail, restaurant and entertainment leasing for The Streets of St. Charles and the Quincy Mall in Quincy, Ill.
Marks previously handled specialty leasing for Glimcher Realty Trust.
Michael Puritz has been appointed senior leasing representative, and Konda Dees was named marketing manager for the company.
Puritz, located in the Chicago office, will be responsible for leasing Cullinan’s central Illinois portfolio, including East Court Village in Pekin, Grand Prairie Developments in Peoria, and East Peoria/Downtown in East Peoria.
Dees is responsible for administering all marketing responsibilities for the portfolio of properties.
