Gary White will leave the company at the end of March to become CEO of United Retail Group Inc. White joined Wet Seal in 2004 as senior VP of sales and operations.
Wet Seal CEO Ed Thomas and other managers will distribute White’s duties among themselves.
Office Depot CFO to Step Down
Delray Beach, Fla. Office Depot announced on Tuesday that Patricia McKay, executive VP and CFO, has resigned effective March 1. Charles Brown, Office Depot’s president, international, will serve as acting CFO following McKay’s departure, the company reported.
Brown was Office Depot’s executive VP and CFO from 2001 to 2005. Office Depot said it plans to begin its search for a permanent CFO immediately and will announce a successor when this process is completed.
Starbucks Names Store Design Exec
Seattle Starbucks announced Tuesday that it has retained a former company executive to oversee its store-design efforts.
Arthur Rubinfeld, 54, will serve as head of global development. He is the second manager hired back since Howard Schultz returned to the role of CEO.
Rubinfeld was executive VP for store development at the coffee chain from 1992 to 2001. Schultz is reining in the company’s expansion after ousting James Donald as CEO last month. Schultz hired another former executive, Harry Roberts, as chief creative officer last month.
