Ascena Retail Group selects TradeStone PLM

Gloucester — TradeSone Software, provider of merchandise lifecycle management (MLM) solutions that unify the design, sourcing, ordering and delivery of retail goods, announced that Ascena Retail Group has gone live with TradeStone’s PLM for Retail and Collaborative Sourcing in 18 weeks at its subsidiary, Tween Brands, which encompasses both the Justice and Brothers retail banners.

"In the selection process, TradeStone became our vendor of choice because they represented a strategic vision that understood our space, how we work and could enable us to have one unified system for our product development, design, merchandise, and sourcing teams," said Ronnie Robinson, executive VP, Ascena Global Sourcing. TradeStone’s merchandising lifecycle management suite is enabling Ascena to drive collaboration, enhance consistency and improve efficiency across the organization. The first phase of the broader transformation encompasses key capabilities in the PLM for Retail and Collaborative Sourcing modules including material, color and artwork libraries, color palettes, design intent, points of measure, tech pack development including sample management, RFQs, offers, and three-way sourcing with the company’s international sourcing offices.

User adoption and feedback has been very positive with quick wins including a reduction in time and manual labor, and automated workflow process and communication between designers, tech designers and vendors.

West Elm to open first Indiana location

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Home furnishings retailer West Elm today announced that it will open a new store in Indianapolis on Nov. 15. Located in The Fashion Mall at Keystone, the new store will be the first West Elm in Indiana.

Through a partnership with Etsy, the store will feature a locally made collection of decorative accessories from artists in the Indianapolis area.

A portion of the proceeds on opening day will go directly to The Harrison Center for the Arts, an Indianapolis-based non-profit organization supporting renewal in the city by fostering awareness, appreciation and community for arts and culture. Additionally, the first 200 customers on opening day will receive a free West Elm Indianapolis reusable tote bag.

“The store at The Fashion Mall at Keystone is our 8th new West Elm store this year, and caps a strong year of growth for the West Elm brand,” said Jim Brett, president of West Elm. “Equally as important, we’ve made strong local connections with organizations supporting the arts and the environment at all of our openings. We’re excited to continue this in Indianapolis with The Harrison Center for the Arts, an organization that shares the same views as West Elm on the importance of supporting local art in the community.”

Zale expands U.S. customer financing options

Dallas — Zale Corp. today announced the addition of consumer finance company, Genesis Financial Solutions, Inc., to its U.S. alternative financing program.

The partnership with Genesis is consistent with the company’s strategy to enhance access to financing for its customers. This new financing option, which became available in October, is offered in Zales, Zales Outlet and Gordon’s retail stores.

Genesis specializes in providing financing to consumers with near-prime and non-prime credit. Citibank, N.A., remains the company’s primary consumer financing provider in the United States. Zale will offer a Genesis revolving line of credit to select customers whose credit applications have been declined by Citibank, providing them with an affordable option and similar repayment terms.

"We were impressed with Genesis’ focus on customer service and their ability to offer a competitive financing option,” said Ken Brumfield, SVP, financial products, Zale Corp. “Adding Genesis to our portfolio of alternative financing lenders further enhances our ability to assist guests in making their fine jewelry purchases.”
