BevMo! adopts Revionics price and promotion optimization solutions
Roseville, Calif. — End-to-end merchandise optimization solution-provider Revionics said that beverage retailer BevMo! has selected Revionics as the provider of its price and promotions optimization system.
In a three-year agreement, Revionics will be providing BevMo! Revionics Price Optimization for base price management and optimization and Revionics Promotion Optimization for promotion planning and optimization.
The company will also be delivering its Store Clustering Analysis services that will scientifically group stores for optimal pricing alignment.
“Revionics’ solutions will enable us to improve our cross-functional collaboration efficiency, reduce manual processing through automation and provide our teams with real-time access to fact-based data for more effective pricing and promotions,” said Alan Johnson, CEO for BevMo!
Yankee Candle names president of direct and CMO
South Deerfield, Mass. — The Yankee Candle Co. said Monday it has named Brad Wolansky to the newly created role of president of direct and CMO.
The retailer said Wolansky’s appointment is part of a strategic initiative focused on building the company’s brands, expanding the digital platform and accelerating growth of its direct-to-consumer business.
Wolansky most recently served as CEO of web-based The Golf Warehouse. He also has served as VP global e-commerce at The Orvis Co.

Best Buy Canada fights showrooming with revised price match policy
BURNABY, B.C. — Best Buy Canada and its subsidiary Future Shop are taking the issue of online competition head on with revised price match and return policies in response to the changing nature of retail in Canada and commitment to customer service.
The companies have launched Price Beat Promise, a guarantee to customers that Best Buy Canada and Future Shop are the destinations with the lowest prices across the country. If a competitor online or in-store has an item selling for less, the companies will beat it by 10% of the difference, for up to 30 days.
"We’re going to beat any price in-store or online for any Canadian Competitor," said Mike Pratt, president and COO, Best Buy Canada. "Showrooming is a completely price-based concept – it’s about the perception of getting a lower price somewhere. We see our Price Beat Promise as rendering showrooming obsolete."
