Peeps & Co. debuts
New York City Just Born, maker of the popular marshmallow candy brand Peeps, has opened its first-ever retail store, in the National Harbor development, in Oxon Hill, Md., a mall and convention center just south of Washington, D.C.
The store, called Peeps & Co., stocks a wide array of products, including Peeps-branded sweatshirts, plush toys, glasswear, and all manner of accessories. Yellow awnings, chick-shaped door handles and 3-D chick tilework behind the register tie into the Peeps-themed environment.
“This is a momentous occasion for Just Born, our family of associates, and fans of our candy, said David Shaffer and Ross Born, co-CEOs, Just Born, in a joint statement. “For years, we have seen tremendous growth and excitement for our brands, and received many requests for a store in just the right location. Peeps & Co. is proud to join the community near our nation’s capital.”
