Brooke Shields to star in Royal Velvet campaign

NEW YORK Iconix Brand Group announced that actress Brooke Shields and her family will star in the print and online marketing campaign for the company’s home brand, Royal Velvet, that will debut this June in shelter, lifestyle and bridal magazines. The campaign will coincide with the launch of Royal Velvet at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Brooke Shields stars in for the campaign alongside her husband, Chris Henchy and daughters, Rowan and Grier. This is the first endorsement deal for the family.

The images feature Brooke and her family snuggling in bed, sitting by the pool, laughing on the couch and relaxing with Royal Velvet towels and bedding.

“At this point in my career, I only do projects that I believe in. Royal Velvet made sense for me and my family because it felt authentic and it is a classic brand with amazing products,” stated Brooke Shields.

The new collection focuses on color, offering 24 colors of towels, which are all available at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Kanter to leave Michaels end of May

IRVING, Texas Michaels Stores has announced that Harvey Kanter, evp and managing director, has decided to leave the company effective May 25 to pursue a top leadership role at another company.

Brian Cornell, ceo, said, “Harvey has made significant contributions to Michaels by assisting in our transformation to a consumer-driven organization and we appreciate his service. He has developed a strong team and we are confident they will ensure a smooth transition.”

Until Kanter’s replacement is named, the merchandising organization will report to Brian Cornell.
