Brown Shoe promotes Sullivan to CEO
St. Louis — Brown Shoe Co. announced Monday it has promoted Diane Sullivan as president and CEO, effective May 26.
Sullivan ha been president and COO.
Current CEO Ron Fromm will remain chairman following a transition period ending in May.
SAS, Winn-Dixie enter partnership
New York City — SAS on Monday announced a 5-year agreement with Winn-Dixie Stores around the company’s marketing and merchandising analytics offering.
“We chose SAS because of their strong commitment to retail and analytical excellence,” stated Maura Hart, Winn-Dixie’s CIO. “This partnership will enhance our customers’ shopping experience with the implementation of SAS’ technology and resources to provide improvements in pricing, assortment and category management.”
“Many grocers have mountains of data, but they lack the time and resources to gain meaningful intelligence from it,” noted Diana McHenry, global retail product marketing, SAS. “SAS is building a bridge so grocers can reap the rewards of advanced analytics just like other segments of the retail industry. … This will help grocers predict buying behavior and identify customers who are at risk of rolling their shopping cart to the competition.”
Christopher & Banks names Barenbaum president and CEO
Minneapolis — Christopher & Banks Corp. announced Monday that it has named Larry Barenbaum as president and CEO, effective immediately.
Barenbaum has served as Interim CEO since October 19, 2010.
“My recent role as Interim CEO has given me an even deeper understanding of the company, its management team and associates, and our retail concepts,” said Barenbaum. “We have already identified and begun to execute on several key initiatives and, with the talented team currently in place, I believe that we can achieve significantly improved profitability and long-term success for Christopher & Banks.”
In connection with Barenbaum’s appointment, the board elected James Fuld Jr. as chair of the board.
