CBRE acquires Greenville, S.C.-based affiliate
Los Angeles — CBRE Group has acquired the commercial real estate brokerage, investment property sales and property management services business of The Furman Co. and certain of its affiliates. Those business lines have served as CBRE’s affiliate in South Carolina, and have operated under the banner of CBRE|Furman since 2010.
CBRE|Furman serves the 10-county upstate region of South Carolina. The acquisition enhances CBRE’s capabilities in the region, adding 18 sales and leasing professionals, staff and 4.5 million sq. ft. of office, retail and industrial property under management. With the acquisition, the CBRE|Furman business will now operate as CBRE.
The Furman Co. will retain ownership and control of its development, investment advisory and risk management/insurance agency businesses. Those businesses will continue to operate independently as The Furman Co. under the leadership of Steve Navarro, president of The Furman Co. Navarro will remain affiliated with CBRE in a consulting capacity focused on CBRE client service.
Steve Smith, managing principal of CBRE|Furman, will join CBRE as managing director of its operations in South Carolina.
Covo Trattoria to Hamilton Heights in NYC
New York — Covo Trattoria has leased restaurant space at 3660 Broadway at the intersection with West 151st Street, a prominent corner in the Hamilton Heights district of Upper Manhattan. The space includes 1,500 sq. ft. on the ground floor and a full basement. Covo Trattoria anticipates opening in the spring.
The eatery has two existing locations in West Harem. At the Hamilton Heights location, Covo Trattoria will join neighbors The Grange, The Chipped Cup, Harlem Public and The Heights Tavern.

New York — David Yurman, a fine jewelry and timepiece designer, has opened a store at Westfield Topanga in Canoga Park, Calif.
Conceptualized by architectural firm of Gabellini Sheppard Associates, the flowing 1,403-sq.-ft. store features classically modern architecture. Every element of the interior reflects the brand’s luxurious yet relaxed aesthetic.
The boutique will carry David Yurman’s classic collections, including gold and sterling silver designs for women, men, and children; timepieces; special one-of-a-kind designs; limited-edition fine jewelry; and engagement rings and wedding bands.
