Charlotte Russe Chairman To Retire
San Diego Charlotte Russe Holding Inc. on Thursday said chairman Bernard Zeichner will retire, effective June 1. Director Jennifer Salopek, a principal with ARC Business Advisors LLC in New York, will replace him. She has been on the company’s board since February 2006.
Zeichner was named president and chief executive of Charlotte Russe in 1996 and became chairman in 1999, when the company went public.
Lord & Taylor Creates CMO Position
New York City Lord & Taylor fortified its executive team with a recruit from The Home Depot, hiring Roger Adams, previously chief marketing officer (CMO) for the home improvement retailer.
Adams assumes the newly created position of senior VP and CMO at Lord & Taylor, and will be responsible for brand management, creative and media services, consumer relationship management, market research, Internet marketing and sales promotion. In his new role, Adams reports to Lord & Taylor chief executive Jane Elfers.
Kenneth Cole Passes CEO Torch
New York City Kenneth Cole Productions named Jill Granoff to the role of CEO. She assumes the position on May 5 and will report directly to current chief executive Kenneth Cole, who will continue to serve as the company’s chairman and chief creative officer.
Most recently, Granoff was executive VP of direct brands at Liz Claiborne, Inc., where she had responsibility for global brands including Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand Jeans, Kate Spade as well as the company’s outlet stores.
