Charming Shoppes Names Interim CEO
Bensalem, Pa. Charming Shoppes announced Tuesday that it has named former Jo-Ann Stores chairman and CEO Alan Rosskamm as its interim CEO.
Rosskamm replaces Dorrit Bern, who has resigned as president and CEO.
Rosskamm, who is also a 15-year veteran of the Charming Shoppes board of directors, will lead the company as a special committee of the board searches for a permanent chief executive, the retailer said.
Charming Shoppes also named Brian Woolf president of the company’s Lane Bryant brand. Woolf is formerly the chairman of women’s apparel retailer Cache Inc.
OfficeMax Appoints CAO
Naperville, Calif. Deborah O’Connor will assume the role of senior VP, finance and chief accounting officer at OfficeMax on Tuesday. Previously, O’Connor was senior VP and controller of the ServiceMaster Co.
Sears Resurrects Apparel Post
Chicago Sears named Craig M. Israel to the position of senior VP and president of its apparel unit, according to a report published by Women’s Wear Daily.
In this capacity, Israel will be responsible for women’s and men’s apparel and accessories and the children’s and cosmetics division at Sears. He reports to Bruce Johnson, interim CEO of Sears Holdings Corp. The report noted that, although Sears described it as a “newly created position,” in fact Robert Mettler, who is now president of special projects at Macy’s, was president of apparel and home fashion at Sears in the 1990s.
