Sears Resurrects Apparel Post

BY CSA STAFF

Chicago Sears named Craig M. Israel to the position of senior VP and president of its apparel unit, according to a report published by Women’s Wear Daily.

In this capacity, Israel will be responsible for women’s and men’s apparel and accessories and the children’s and cosmetics division at Sears. He reports to Bruce Johnson, interim CEO of Sears Holdings Corp. The report noted that, although Sears described it as a “newly created position,” in fact Robert Mettler, who is now president of special projects at Macy’s, was president of apparel and home fashion at Sears in the 1990s.
