CVS and 7-Eleven participating in new American Express cash-load program

New York — American Express Serve announced a free nationwide cash load network and the addition of new money management capabilities to its full-service reloadable prepaid account. The new features enable Serve customers to load cash for free at more Than 14,000 participating CVS/pharmacy and 7-Eleven stores

The new features include: direct deposit, bill pay, mobile check capture, and personal financial management tools. These enhancements are designed to meet the needs of the nearly 70 million Americans underserved by traditional financial services.

“Unfortunately, the traditional banking system is not easily accessible to large segments of the population, making managing money cumbersome and expensive for many,” said Dan Schulman, group president, enterprise growth at American Express. “We launched Serve two years ago with the simple idea that consumers needed a better way to move their money. Today, we’ve added a number of new features to make the management and movement of money more affordable and convenient for everyone.”

DSW sets fall opening for two stores in New York City

Columbus, Ohio — DSW Inc. is increasing its presence in New York City. The company will open a 27,000-sq.-ft. store on 125th Street in Harlem on Oct. 11, and a 20,000 sq. ft. store at Bay Plaza in the Bronx on Oct. 31.

The new locations bolster DSW’s presence in New York City when combined with existing locations at 14th Street/Union Square, 34th Street, and the Upper West Side.

HoneyBaked adding 10,000 seasonal associates

Atlanta — HoneyBaked is gearing up for the holiday season. The company is preparing for its annual rush on its signature food products by providing part-time jobs for thousands of people nationwide. The company anticipates hiring 10,000 seasonal associates, increasing its workforce by 200%.

"Company-wide, HoneyBaked anticipates more than 2.5 million customers during the holiday season, from Thanksgiving through the start of the new year," said COO Maggie DeCan. "To continue our tradition of providing the centerpiece for American holiday tables and exceeding customer standards during our busiest season, we are searching for a holiday team that respects, understands and delivers the HoneyBaked core values every day."
