CVS offers talking prescription labels

BY Dan Berthiaume

Woonsocket, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy now provides ScripTalk talking prescription labels for prescriptions ordered for home delivery through its online pharmacy, CVS.com. The ScripTalk labels provide a way to access information on prescription labels for individuals who cannot read standard print.

The ScripTalk labels are free to CVS.com pharmacy customers who are blind or visually impaired. Customers can also obtain a free ScripTalk reader from Envision America that will enable them to listen to the information on the ScripTalk label.

We are pleased to offer the ScripTalk service to our online pharmacy customers who are visually impaired," said Josh Flum, senior VP of retail pharmacy at CVS Caremark. "Enhancing access to important information about prescriptions is in keeping with our purpose of helping people on their path to better health."

WhitePages rolls out identity scoring tool

BY Dan Berthiaume

Seattle – WhitePages is rolling out the WhitePages Pro Identity Score product, which is designed to help business users quickly validate customer identities to accelerate their order flow, as well as detect fake identities that warrant flagging the transaction. WhitePages Pro provides business users with access to a database of consumer contact information.

By coupling this database with proprietary algorithms, Pro Identity Score’s machine learning capabilities provide merchants the ability to clear good orders faster while simultaneously stopping fraudulent activities. The solution can be implemented by a merchant as a standalone product or as a plug-in to their existing fraud and risk management technologies.

“Confidently verifying customer identities has become more elusive in a digital and mobile world and, as a result, merchants must be smarter, more focused and more technologically savvy than ever before. PRO Identify Score accelerates order flow for merchants so that they can focus their limited resources on revenue-driving areas of the business,” said Tom Donlea, director of risk services, WhitePages Pro. “We have applied more than 15 years of contact data expertise to meet the very real needs of today’s online merchants. PRO Identity Score is a world class predictive intelligence engine that merchants can rely on to immediately strengthen their bottom line results, without stressing internal resources.”

Intelligrated releases new pick-to-light solution

BY Dan Berthiaume

Cincinnati — Intelligrated is releasing new RTS Trak3 cL pick-to-light hardware from its subsidiary company, Knighted. The new pick-to-light system enables maximum picking and putting accuracy and efficiency in high-velocity, high-SKU omni-channel and e-commerce fulfillment environments.

Scalable operational features and flexible workflows enable quick startup and improved order fulfillment productivity for both simple and complex operations. RTS Trak3 cL pick-to-light systems utilize bright flashing lights and LED displays to provide clear direction to pick locations and quantities for picking in a variety of fulfillment methods, including cluster and batch picking. Multicolor devices enable concurrent activity in the shared zones, such as multiple active order fillers or quick batch viewed by color-coded picking for shorter walk times and improved labor productivity.

Integrated with Knighted fulfillment execution software, each RTS Trak3 cL pick-to-light system can scale to meet increased capacity requirements and augments existing WMS or ERP systems to provide advanced planning, management and reporting tools to optimize light-directed operations. Each module can function as a single or dual location, with dedicated high-speed device-level controllers that enable easy configuration for multiple fulfillment workflows.

“The new Trak3 cL pick-to-light system meets the fulfillment needs of our e-commerce and omnichannel distribution customers with changing order profiles and increased each picking,” said Greg Cronin, executive VP, Intelligrated. “This scalable, entry-level picking automation system delivers the accuracy and productivity demanded by today’s fastest growing retailers, manufacturers and 3PL operators.”
