Deckers global headquarters gets Silver LEED certified

Goleta, Calif. – The corporate headquarters of Deckers Outdoor Corp. Company’s corporate headquarters has achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED Certification is awarded for buildings that are energy efficient and environmentally sustainable in design and operation.

Deckers built its new 190,000-sq.-ft.headquarters to the LEED standard with many environmentally friendly features, earning credits across five categories that are evaluated by the LEED building design and construction rating system. These measures included: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality. Among the features included in Deckers’ headquarters are:

• Parking spaces reserved for energy-efficient autos and power stations for electric vehicles;

• Bike storage and showering/changing facilities for employees who wish to bike to work;

• Environmentally friendly irrigation and water drainage systems;

• Efficient energy and HVAC management systems; and
• Recycled building materials supported by local companies.

Kenneth Cole launches omnichannel marketing campaign

New York – Kenneth Cole Productions Inc. is launching an omnichannel marketing campaign to support specific charitable projects under three company pillars – Collective Health, Civil Liberties, and Artistic Activism. The advertising campaign will be supported by a national print, outdoor, digital, and social media plan.

A website will feature exclusive photographer and video content, as well as an interactive timeline of Kenneth Cole’s support for charitable causes. In addition, Kenneth Cole is teaming up with TakePart.com. The digital magazine and social action platform of Participant Media will produce original editorial pieces covering the impact of Kenneth Cole’s charity partner projects as well as enable visitors to take actions benefiting each nonprofit through TakePart.com’s proprietary Take Action Platform (TAP).

Directly integrated into each article, TAP actions include signing petitions, pledging, donating, sending messages of support, and measuring the influence of social sharing. To further incentivize participation, Kenneth Cole will provide rewards for each action taken.

Michael’s names supply chain and vendor partners of the year

Irving, Texas – The Michaels Companies Inc. has recognized Polygroup Limited as its overall Vendor of the Year for product innovation, customer education and inspiration, quality products, and efficiency in supply chain. Michaels has also named Con-way Truckload as domestic transportation Supply Chain Partner of the Year and Kintetsu World Express Inc. as international Supply Chain Partner of the Year.

Eleven vendor and supply chain partners were recognized for their contributions to Michaels’ success over the past year.

Chartpak Inc. was recognized as Aaron Brothers’ overall Vendor of the Year for its contribution to the growth of Aaron Brothers’ art department. Artistree, the frame and moulding manufacturing operation for Michaels and Aaron Brothers stores, named Tru Vue, Inc. as the company’s Custom Framing Vendor of the Year, recognizing its continuous contribution to Artistree’s growth and profitability.
