Dick’s Sporting Goods to Western, Pa.’s Monroeville Mall
Chattanooga, Tenn. — Dick’s Sporting Goods is moving across the street from the periphery of the Monroeville Mall in Monroeville, Pa., into the mall, according to CBL & Associates Properties, the mall’s owner. The existing Dick’s Sporting Goods will remain open until the new store completes construction. Plans call for a grand opening this summer.
“This redevelopment, as well as the previous addition of the Cinemark Theatre, represents our ongoing commitment to reinvest in the growth of our centers and provide shoppers with a broader range of shopping, dining and entertainment options,” said Stephen Lebovitz, president and chief executive officer, CBL & Associates Properties.
Four tenants for Park West Village in Morrisville, N.C.
Morrisville, N.C. — Earth Fare, Pier I Imports, Blackfinn Ameripub and Charming Charlie have inked new leases at Park West Village in Morrisville, N.C., according to the center’s owner, CASTO.
Earth Fare, an organic health foods grocer, will occupy a 25,000 sq. ft. location. Pier I has taken 10,000 sq. ft. and plans to open this summer. Blackfinn Ameripub, a full-service restaurant with a pub has leased about 6,000 sq. ft. With plans to open early this month, Charming Charlie will occupy 6,000 sq. ft.
Topshop to open Fifth Avenue flagship; four other U.S. stores
London – Trendy British retailer Topshop/Topman plans to open a 40,000-sq-ft. flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York. The new Manhattan store will be located on the corner of 49th Street, and is adjacent to Rockefeller Center.
The store will open in fall 2014, and several hundred new jobs will be created including in the company’s new U.S. head office operations, based in New York. The upper levels of the store will feature art deco detailing, while the lower floors will transition to the contemporary style. There with be continuous glazing on both levels, purposely created to allow dynamic window displays and creating a wrap-around dramatic impact.
Topshop and Topman will expand further within the U.S. with four additional new store openings across the country – Topshop and Topman joint stores in Fashion Valley San Diego (17,500 sq. ft.), and a stand-alone Topshop in Springfield Town Center Washington (5,000 sq. ft.) in the fall of 2014 and Topshop and Topman joint stores in Galleria Mall Houston (16,500 sq. ft.) and Lennox Square Mall Atlanta (15,500 sq. ft.) slated for spring 2015.
International franchise expansion of the Topshop and Topman brands will lead to a planned 15 stores in eight countries by summer 2014, including Russia, Turkey and Vietnam.
