Dollar General, Coupons.com introduce digital coupon program
Goodlettsville, Tenn. – Dollar General, in partnership with Coupons.com, completed the successful rollout of its new DG Digital Coupons program to its more than 11,300 stores across the 40 states the retailer serves. To use the DG Digital Coupon Program, customers may sign up either online or in stores using a numeric identification number, which is typically their telephone number.
After signing up, customers can select the most relevant coupons to be added to their profile and the discounts are then applied to a customer’s purchase at checkout when they purchase eligible items.
Bon-Ton bolsters board
The Bon-Ton Stores has elected Daniel T. Motulsky to its board of directors.
Motulsky was a managing director and global head of consumer & retail of Lazard from 2000 to June 2014, having joined the firm in 1998. Lazard is a global financial advisory and asset management firm that engages in investment banking, asset management and other financial services primarily with institutional clients.
Prior to his service with Lazard, Motulsky was a partner of Tanner & Co., a merchant banking and mergers and acquisitions advisory firm. He previously served as an investment banker with Salomon Brothers and began his career as a software design engineer at VLSI Technology. Motulsky received a B.S. with distinction in electrical engineering and computer science from Stanford University in 1985.

Rite Aid July same-store sales rise
Camp Hill, Pa. – Same-store sales increased 4.6% at Rite Aid Corp. in July 2014. Total drugstore sales for the four-week period increased 4.1% to $1.97 billion, compared to $1.9 billion for the same period the prior year.
July front-end same-store sales increased 1.5%. Pharmacy same-store sales increased 6%. Prescription count at comparable stores increased 3.9% from the prior-year period.
