Domino’s offers Facebook promotion
Ann Arbor, Mich. – Domino’s is running a special global Facebook promotion giving customers in 42 countries a 50% discount on menu-priced pizza ordered online. Through Dec. 8, customers can visit their country’s Domino’s Facebook page to see if they can redeem the offer.
In addition, the Domino’s Facebook page will allow users to interact with a special tab that will allow them to not only claim the offer, but "swap faces" with other Domino’s team members and customers across the globe, using photos from Facebook profiles. U.S. customers who use the face swap tool will be entered for a chance to win free pizza for a year.
"Domino’s is proud of our global presence, and we’re thrilled to spend this whole week celebrating it with Domino’s fans from around the world," said Russell Weiner, chief marketing officer of Domino’s.
Report: McDonald’s launches app in New England, Albany areas
Oak Brook, Ill. – McDonald’s is reportedly making its free “McD” mobile app available to customers in the New England/Albany, N.Y. market. According to the Boston Globe, New England/Albany is the third market where McDonald’s has released the McD app, which is available for both iPhones and Android smartphones.
The McD app offers coupons, menu listings, a restaurant locator and additional new deals every six weeks. It is available in the App Store, Google Play store and also by scanning QR codes available in restaurants.
Ahold USA appoints new CFO
Dan Sullivan was elevated to the role of CFO at Ahold USA following the departure of Paula Price.
Price spent nearly five years there, but decided to take her career in a new direction, according to a statement by the supermarket operator, subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Ahold and owner of the Stop & Shop and Giant Food Stores chains. Price will lecture at a leading university on leadership and technical topics related to her unique business journey in addition to complementing her existing corporate and non-profit board positions, according to the company.
Filling her role is Dan Sullivan who joined Ahold USA in 2010 and most recently served as SVP of business planning and performance. Sullivan will report to COO James McCann.
"I want to thank Paula for her many contributions to Ahold USA," McCann said. "During her tenure, Paula transformed Ahold USA’s financial organization and led programs that delivered hundreds of millions of cost savings and helped to build a strong foundation for our future."
Prior to joining Ahold USA, Sullivan was CFO, COO and SVP of strategy for Heineken USA
