DSGE names COO as chairman, president and CEO
Dallas – DGSE Companies Inc. has named James D. “Dusty” Clem to the positions of chairman, president and CEO, effective immediately. Clem replaces James Vierling, who has resigned as CEO and as a director of DGSE to accept a position with Elemetal LLC, DGSE’s largest shareholder.
In addition, Brett Burford, who has served as DGSE’s CFO since August 2012, was named to DGSE’s board of directors, effective immediately, replacing Vierling on the DGSE board. Clem became COO in December 2012. Previously, he served as DGSE’s VP of sales and marketing from 2008 to 2012. Prior to 2008, Clem was with the Heritage Organization LLC, an estate planning firm, for seven years.
Petco names president of its small-format division, Unleashed by Petco
San Diego — Petco today that Brad Weston, currently executive VP, chief merchandising officer, has been named president of the company’s small-format division, Unleashed by Petco. In this newly created and expanded role, Weston will drive all future strategy and operations for Unleashed by Petco, while continuing to lead merchandising for the Petco brand.

Unleashed by Petco stores provide a tailored assortment of mostly dog and cat products focused on natural foods and "Made in the USA" brands. The stores also offers a variety of services including dog training, vaccination clinics and pet parties, as well as grooming and self-service pet washing at select locations.
Petco introduced Unleashed by Petco in 2009, and it has since grown to more than 100 locations across the country, making it the fifth largest U.S. pet specialty chain if it were a stand-alone brand. In 2013 alone, a total of 38 new Unleashed stores were opened throughout the United States.
CVS/pharmacy offers insurance payment service
Woonsocket, R.I. – CVS/pharmacy is launching a new service called Bill Pay at CVS/pharmacy in spring 2014 to help customers manage their monthly health insurance premiums. Members of participating health plans can bring their insurance bills to any CVS/pharmacy store in the U.S. to pay their premiums at no additional cost.
CVS/pharmacy has partnered with InComm to facilitate bill payments at all cash registers in the pharmacy or at front checkout. Members of health plans that participate in Bill Pay at CVS/pharmacy will receive their monthly premium bills featuring a customer-specific barcode and instructions on how it may be used to pay their premium. CVS will scan the barcode and collect the member’s desired payment, which may be made using cash, credit card or debit card.
CVS/pharmacy also accepts insurance bill payments from members of health plans that are enrolled in MoneyGram’s bill payment service. Most CVS/pharmacy locations are equipped with MoneyGram phones or kiosks to facilitate a cash-only bill payment at a store’s front checkout.
