Dunkin’ Donuts seeks Alabama franchise growth

Canton, Mass. – Dunkin’ Donuts is recruiting franchisees in Dothan, Ala. Currently, there are 18 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants located throughout Alabama. To help fuel growth in Dothan, special development incentives are available, which include reduced royalty fees for three years and up to $10,000 in local store marketing.

Dunkin’ Donuts continues to strategically expand in contiguous markets around the country with a long-term goal of having more than 15,000 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the U.S. The company offers flexible concepts for any real estate format including free-standing restaurants, end caps, in-line sites, gas and convenience, travel plazas, universities, as well as other retail environments.

Dunkin’ Donuts’ new look includes four distinct restaurant design options for franchisees, each featuring variations in layout, color schemes, graphics, textures, furniture and/or lighting. Franchisees are allowed to select individual elements from any of the four options.

Jones Group sets special meeting for Sycamore Partners merger approval

New York — The Jones Group Inc. has scheduled a special meeting of The Jones Group shareholders for April 7, 2014 to consider and vote upon the previously announced merger agreement entered into with Sycamore Partners on Dec. 19, 2013. Under the agreement, affiliates of Sycamore Partners will acquire The Jones Group for $15 per share in cash, or about $1.2 billion.

The meeting will be held at the offices of Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York. The Jones Group shareholders of record as of the close of business on March 5, 2014 will be entitled to receive notice of, and vote at, the special meeting. If the merger agreement is adopted at the special meeting, the company expects the transaction to be completed in the second quarter of 2014, subject to the satisfaction of the other conditions set forth in the merger agreement.

Aaron’s names new VP of franchising

Atlanta – Michael P. Ryan, operational VP of Aaron’s Inc., has been named VP of franchising. Todd Evans, current VP of franchising, will be leaving Aaron’s to pursue other opportunities.

Henri Rogers, senior regional manager for Aaron’s Three Rivers region, will succeed Ryan as divisional VP of northern operations.

"I’m very pleased that Michael, one of our most successful and talented operational VPs, has accepted the leadership reigns and will now serve as VP of franchising," said David L. Buck, Aaron’s COO. "Michael’s background is deeply rooted in operations and we are confident that his experience will bring immediate value and support to the franchisees and continued expansion of our franchise operations."
