Englewood Construction announces completion of Spanx’s first retail location

Chicago — Englewood Construction has announced that the firm’s Retail Group recently completed work on the nation’s first Spanx store, and also completed the first American Girl store in the Florida market.

At Tyson’s Corner Center in McLean, Va., just outside of Washington D.C., Spanx opened its first retail location in the U.S.

Boston-based Bergmeyer Associates served as the project’s architect. To see a photo of the store click here.

American Girl continues its expansion with the opening of its first store in Florida, at The Falls in Miami. This is the sixth American Girl constructed by Englewood.

The 15,000-sq.-ft. store at The Falls includes a retail floor and a restaurant. The architect on the project was Pasadena-Calif.-based Jacobs Engineering Group.

These new stores would be a grand addition to the locality. Online shops are good for shopping too, especially for there are so many good shops that help your child with the right craft materials, while there are some with cool clothes and accessories.

Sears Holdings seeks online success with digital decision

Sears Holdings is looking to replicate the success it had with digital initiatives in 2011 by turning to the same firm that helped it deliver results.

For the second year in a row, Billups Design was selected to lead digital creative for Sears and Kmart Black Friday and holiday ecommerce dynamic ad campaigns. The project includes Sears and Kmart brand awareness ads, local ad business groups, and site retargeting ads with dynamic product feeds designed to increase ecommerce sales, according to Billups.

The Sears holiday ecommerce ad campaigns will be powered by TheLiveAds, a behavioral messaging and creative retargeting platform which delivers sequential creative messaging to increase product relevance, expand brand awareness and grow online revenue through segmented ad campaigns across all desktop, tablet and mobile devices, according to Billups.

"We are thrilled to be collaborating with Sears again this year," said Ted Billups, founding partner of Billups Design. "TheLiveAds established a new benchmark of success for ecommerce ads at Sears Holdings last year. We work very hard monitoring every headline, photo, creative image, file name and feed to ensure the ads work properly for over two million products in 27 business units, and produce positive ROI."

Billups Design is a provider of digital marketing services and it relies on TheLiveAds to deliver relevant creative display campaigns that speed the shopper consideration process to drive increased online sales.

Dollar General seeks piece of Thanksgiving pie

Dollar General’s 10,000 plus locations will be open Thanksgiving Day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., but it’s not taking the heat for doing so like rivals Walmart and Target.

Dollar General on Monday announced a series of online and in-store promotions, including special opening hours, designed to establish it as a holiday destination for gift givers as opposed to a convenient located stores that sell consumables.

"Dollar General extends its every day convenience and low prices this holiday season both in stores and online," said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s EVP and chief merchandising officer. "We want to help our customers stretch their dollar this holiday season and are offering great specials, particularly on Thanksgiving Day."

Hours of operation at all Dollar General stores are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and 7 a.m. to normal close of business on Black Friday. Normal hours of operation resume on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

In addition to what the company called incredible holiday savings on electronics, toys, clothing at its more than 10,000 locations, Dollar General is making an aggressive digital play this year as well and recently launched new apps for the iPhone and Android platforms. For example, the company is touting exclusive deals on its Web site that are only on Black Friday and Cyber Monday with special free shipping on any order of $25 or more. Among some of the online items offered are a 7 inch digital photo frame for $25, an e-reader with a seven inch screen for $50, an Emerson 12MP digital camera for $30 and an old fashioned rocking horse for $40.
