European Wax Center inks upper west side deals

New York — European Wax Center, a national chain offering waxing services for men and women, has taken space in two upper west side locations, according to Winick Realty Group, which represented the tenant in both transactions.

European Wax Center will occupy 1,500 sq. ft. at 2409 Broadway between 88th and 89th Streets. NGKF represented the landlord, 2409 Broadway Associates.

The retailer also leased 1,770 sq. ft. at 805 Columbus Avenue, located within the Columbus Square Development. Winick also represented the landlord in this transaction.

Winick is working to secure an additional location for European Wax Center on the Upper East Side.

Grand Ridge Plaza launches

Issaquah, Wash. — Construction is nearing completion on Issaquah Highlands’ new shopping and entertainment district, Grand Ridge Plaza. The Regency Centers Corp. center, which broke ground in the summer of 2012, is in the midst of its busiest rollout stretch, which features the grand opening of a Safeway grocery store.

Throughout September and October, the $90 million Grand Ridge Plaza welcomed more than a dozen new merchants, including Opal Boutique, PinkaBella Cupcakes, MOD Pizza, Ulta Beauty, Dick’s Sporting Goods, The RAM Restaurant & Brewery, Big Fish Grill, Wells Fargo, and Civilized Nature and Chinoise Cafe. Oct.25 saw the peak of this busy season with the launch of the center’s anchor stores – the new Safeway as well as Marshalls and HomeGoods.

The center will host grand opening events for the community November 16 and 17 to showcase its mix of regional and national restaurants and specialty stores.

Nordstrom Rack to open its first South Carolina store

Seattle — Nordstrom plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at Magnolia Park in Greenville, S.C. The approximately 32,000-sq.-ft. store is scheduled to open in fall 2014. Magnolia Park is being developed by Menin Development.

The Magnolia Park Nordstrom Rack will be the company’s first location in South Carolina.

"We’re thrilled to have this opportunity to bring a Nordstrom Rack closer to home for customers in South Carolina," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. "Magnolia Park is an excellent location and we look forward to earning the business of customers there when we open our doors next fall."

Nordstrom Rack joins a growing list of retailers filling out the final phase of development at Magnolia Park. When complete, the center will offer customers 800,000 sq. ft. of retail, dining and entertainment. Current tenants include Costco, Regal Cinemas, Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us.
