Faith Hope Consolo on CREW Network board

New York — Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group has taken her seat as a member of the 2014 board of directors of the Commercial Real Estate Women’s (CREW) Network on Oct. 9, at CREW Network’s annual Convention and Fall Council Meeting in Dallas. Her term begins January 1, 2014.

CREW Network is the largest commercial real estate association for women and represents approximately 8,200 women leaders in 74 markets throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The appointment required a unanimous vote by the current board of directors. The board recognized Consolo’s contributions to various industry, educational and charitable organizations, including her work as the director of communications for the New York chapter, NYCrew, and her participation as a member of national CREW’s Communications Committee since 2012.

“This is a tremendous honor from an organization I regard as one of the most important voices for women nationwide,” said Consolo.

Charming Charlie debuts in midtown Manhattan

New York — Charming Charlie has signed a lease for a 15,500-sq.-ft. store at 445 Fifth Avenue in the heart of midtown Manhattan. The fashion accessories retailer will open its first-ever Manhattan flagship store in early 2015.

Thor Equities owns and manages the building, which is located at the northeast corner of 39th street and Fifth Avenue, across from the New York Public Library. RKF and Strategic Retail Advisors represented Charming Charlie in the transaction. Thor Equities represented itself.

Montgomery, Ala. — Jim Wilson & Associates and Conway Development Corporation have announced the development of Central Landing, a 150-acre mixed-use project with retail, office, residential and hospitality components, in Conway, Ark.

Conway City officials estimate the project will create an additional $2 billion in retail sales and $34 million in additional sales taxes for the city over a 10-year period.

The site plan indicates that the development will feature a lifestyle component anchored by large retail stores. Specialty stores, restaurants, offices and multifamily components will round out Central Landing. The retail phase of the project will be about 750,000 sq. ft.

Jim Wilson & Associates is a privately owned real estate company specializing in shipping centers, residential real estate investments, offices, condominiums, hotels and mixed-use developments.

Conway Development Corporation is a Conway agency that promotes the industrial and economic growth and development of the City of Conway.
