Famous Footwear introduces mobile app
St. Louis – Famous Footwear free app for iPhone and Android. The new app offers shoppers instant access to savings they can earn through Famous Footwear’s Rewards program, as well as exclusive mobile discounts and offers. The app allows users to plan, shop and track their purchases, and redeem their Rewards points from their mobile device.
Features include a digital wallet that automatically stores and tracks reward points for instant access, exclusive mobile savings, and purchase tracking. Users can also have access to Twitter, Instagram and blog content and save items for future purchase.
“Famous Footwear’s app gives mobile shoppers easy, convenient access to the shoe styles and brands that fit their lifestyles,” said Will Smith, chief marketing officer of Famous Footwear parent Brown Shoe Retail. “We’ve designed it to make shopping, sharing and saving, as well as earning and redeeming rewards, as immediate as today’s mobile shoppers expect.”
Kodak Alaris opens retail channels
Rochester, N.Y. — Kodak Alaris today unveiled the Kodak Photo Service, which opens the company’s worldwide installed base of Kodak picture kiosks and printers to content providers, creating new revenue streams for both them and retailers.
By opening its Kodak Network Services APIs, Kodak Alaris gives content providers who join the Kodak Photo Service program immediate access to its global retail network. By providing this access, content providers can create a print-to-store option for their consumers to turn digital content into physical content. Applications and content providers certified for the program include: CameraAce (TecAce); Chappters (iEvoke); Chip Photobook (Onpics); Comic Touch (Plasq); Perfect365 (ArcSoft); PicMix (Inovidea Magna Global); pixmix (Pixmix Ltd); PixStack Photo Editor (Recursify); Postify Print (Postify); Watch The Birdie (Albert Frischmann Consulting); and WedPics (Deja Mi).
Retailers can accept and print a wide variety of content from mobile, desktop and web-based applications, increasing the utilization of their printers without additional investment. Retailers participating in this program include Target and Bartell Drugs in the U.S.
Convenience store retailer deploys VeriFone interactive marketing system
Atlanta — VeriFone Systems announced that Holiday Oil of West Valley, Utah, has completed a chain wide rollout of its in-store marketing solution, LiftRetail.
The solution uses POS-connected digital screens to engage each shopper with relevant offers and coupons. Additionally, it analyzes each item in a shopper’s basket in real-time to make the right offer to the right shopper at the right time. The result is a proven increase in sales, delighted shoppers, and empowered cashiers.
VeriFone worked closely with Holiday to incorporate its coffee loyalty program into the shopper’s interactive checkout experience. Instead of relying on paper punch cards, LiftRetail tacks each shopper’s purchases by mobile number and automatically redeems their sixth coffee for free.
“LiftRetail provides leverage to our existing marketing programs and enabled us to implement an aspect of loyalty,” said Blain Boelter, VP of operations with Holiday Oil, which operates 50 retail gasoline and convenience stores. “We are going to expand that loyalty program to our fountain areas and possibly fuel purchases as well.”
