Fancy Feast launches Pinterest contest
St. Louis – Fancy Feast Gourmet Cat Food is launching a Pinterest sweepstakes called “Cheese Affair Pin to Win.” The contest, promoting the company’s new line of cheddar cheese-flavored products, offers cheese-themed prizes including a trip to New York to attend an event hosted by cheese expert and author Liz Thorpe. Consumers are eligible to win prizes by pinning certain cheese-themed images from Fancy Feast on their Pinterest boards during certain time periods through Aug. 11.
“Cheese is more than an ingredient. It has the power to unite people and their cats,” said Thorpe. “I am thrilled to be able to share my passion and knowledge of cheese to help bring people and cats together to celebrate mealtime in fun new ways.”
Walgreens names Lelinski corporate VP
Deerfield Park, Ill. — Walgreens has named Mark Lelinski as its new corporate VP, market access. Lelinski will be responsible for contracting and pricing strategies, integration efforts across Walgreens pharmacy, health and wellness division, sales and account management, and developing the company’s managed market strategies.
Lelinski, who joined Walgreens on June 17, previously spent nine years with AstraZeneca in a number of marketing, strategy and managed market roles, both in the US and abroad. Prior to that he was a partner at Accenture, where he headed the pharmaceutical marketing and sales effectiveness practice, and also previously held a number of executive positions supporting physician networks, health plans and health informatics companies.
“Mark is a seasoned leader with an established track record of delivering results, and will help to build upon the excellent work that is being done in our market access group,” said Kermit Crawford, Walgreens president of pharmacy, health and wellness. “His experience in managed market roles both in the U.S. and internationally is the right fit for where Walgreens is headed. As a strategic partner of choice in the health care industry, we believe Mark’s relationship-driven approach will help us strengthen our partnerships and create more value from the emerging models and markets that will be key to our growth moving forward.”
Zimmer absent from latest Mens Wearhouse ad
Houston — Mens Wearhouse estranged founder George Zimmer is noticeably absent from the chain’s latest commercial, which launched in print and broadcast on July 8.
According to a Reuters report, the new ad focuses on the company’s National Suit Drive, an annual charity event that donated suits to unemployed men who are looking to get back in the workforce. Zimmer and his signature phrase — "You’re going to like the way you look. I guarantee it," — are nowhere to be found.
Zimmer, 64, was ousted in June as executive chairman after he engaged in a dispute with the board over the company’s structure and strategies.
Neither Zimmer nor Men’s Wearhouse has commented on the new marketing direction.
Men’s Wearhouse has the option to bring Zimmer back as a spokesman for the brand; the company has a licensing agreement with Zimmer who will receive $250,000 for each of the next four years, should they use his image in its advertising.
