Global Franchise Group names Andrew Kmiec as VP of Real Estate

Atlanta— Global Franchise Group, the brand management company and franchisor behind Great American Cookies, Pretzelmaker, Marble Slab Creamery, MaggieMoo’s Ice Cream & Treatery and Hot Dog on a Stick, has hired Andrew Kmiec as VP of Real Estate. Kmiec will be responsible for directing GFG’s real estate team in the areas of strategic site selection, lease negotiation and store design for franchisees and corporate owned locations.

Before coming to GFG, Kmiec was Associate VP, Real Estate at Focus Brands, the company that owns and operates Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon and Moe’s Southwest Grill. In the position, Kmiec led a real estate committee that reviewed opportunities for property leases and franchise development expansion. He has 15 years of experience in real estate and operations.

“Andrew has immense knowledge and experience in identifying new business markets, site-driven franchise sales and leasing negotiations, which made him an ideal candidate for GFG’s VP of Real Estate position,” said Chris Dull, CEO and president of Global Franchise Group. “As our portfolio continues to diversify and increase in size, Andy’s expertise in the Quick Service Restaurant real estate space will be an asset to GFG.”

Stirling Properties’ Beezie Landry closes
 on sale of three investment properties

Covington, La.Stirling Properties’ Beezie Landry, senior sales and leasing executive, closed on the sale of three investment properties, totaling over $15 million. In each of these transactions, Landry represented the Seller.

The CVS property on Greenwell Springs Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is a 13,824-sq.-ft. building purchased by a private New York- based investor for $4.75 million.


Park Plaza
3005 on Gerstner Memorial Drive in Lake Charles, Louisiana was purchased from Weingarten Realty by a private Houston-based investor for $6 million.

And Woodmere Crossing
in Montgomery, Alabama, is tenanted by Petco, Books-A-Million, Jason’s Deli, and Sally Beauty Supply. It was purchased by BV Belk Properties for $4.4 million.

Venture Commercial completes sale of two Burlington Coat Factory buildings

DallasX Team International announced that partner Venture Commercial Real Estate completed the sale of two properties in Richardson, Texas and Waco, Texas, representing more than 150,000 sq. ft. of retail space.

The Richardson property, located at 300 South Plano Road near the southwest corner of South Plano and East Belt Line Road, accounts for 74,091 sq. ft. of retail space. The 76,316-sq.-ft. Waco building is located at 5050 West Waco Drive. Currently, Burlington Coat Factory occupies both properties.

“The properties in Richardson and Waco hold tremendous potential for future growth and development,” Venture Commercial Partner John Zikos said.

Zikos and Christopher M. Gibbons of Venture represented the seller, MDS Texas Realty, in the transactions, closing out a portfolio of four investment property sales for the client. David Tran of California-based Transmercial Commercial Real Estate Investments represented the buyer of the Richardson property, while El Paso-based MIMCo Inc. self-represented in the Waco property purchase.
