Golf Galaxy Prepares for IPO
Minneapolis, Golf equipment and apparel retailer Golf Galaxy plans an initial public offering of 3.3 million shares for between $11 and $13 per share. The company is selling 3 million shares while shareholders plan to sell 333,000, according to an amended offering document filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company is seeking a listing on Nasdaq under the symbol “GGXY.”
Wal-Mart’s Web Site Suffers Lengthy Outage
Bentonville, Ark, Wal-Mart Stores suffered an unknown technical glitch that knocked its Web site out of commission for as many as 11 hours, according to one Internet tracking service. The walmart.com Web site came back up Thursday morning. The company said that a minor incident during routine maintenance kept the site down longer than expected. Wal-Mart gets more hits than any other retail Web site except for Amazon.com
The Hits Keep Coming: Myinks.com Moves Fastest
New York City, The site www.myinks.com jumped 15,934 positions to the rank of the 2,048th most visited retail Web site for the week ending on July 9. The increase in market share for the on-line inkjet superstore of 740% made it the fastest moving retail Web site of the week, according to Hitwise.com, the on-line intelligence firm. 101inks ranked third among fast movers, with an increase in market share of 478%.
