Headway reports holiday hiring
Raleigh, N.C. Headway Corporate Resources announced Friday that its Retail Solutions Group is planning to hire more than 7,300 workers at more than 1,000 retail locations in 48 states for this year’s holiday season.
The company will be providing a combination of seasonal staffing, outsourced field recruitment and outsourced hiring solutions for a variety of retailers on a nationwide basis, including Case-Mate, Borders Group and Hickory Farms.
The positions that are being hired, according to Headway, include sales associates, key holders, store managers, clerks, merchandisers, as well as district and regional managers.
The hiring- and employment-solutions provider said it will be leveraging its GPS Recruitment Technology, Center for Operational and Recruitment Excellence and its proprietary database of over 1.5 million candidates to power the sourcing, screening and acquisition of talent and employment solutions for its retail clients.
Ford Motor Co. executive to deliver keynote address at annual CEA show
NEW YORK The Consumer Electronics Association announced that the president and chief executive officer of Ford Motor Co., Alan Mulally, will deliver the opening keynote address at the 2010 International CES.
The world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow will take place January 7-10, 2010, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Alan Mulally has positioned Ford as a leading innovator in the automotive industry, and we are pleased to welcome him back to CES,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. “For the auto industry and all other businesses that use technology, CES is the single must-attend event where business gets done.”
In addition to the Ford keynote stage, the 2010 CES will prominently feature the latest in-vehicle technologies including advancements in portable GPS, location based services, in-car video, wireless technology and integrated products for combining entertainment with navigation and security. Sales of in-vehicle technology are expected to top $9.3 billion in 2009.
Some of CES’ major in-vehicle electronics exhibitors include: AT&T CruiseCast by RaySat Broadcasting Corp, Directed Electronics, Dual Electronics Corporation, InstallerNet Inc., Kenwood USA, Kia Motors, Metra, Mitek, Pioneer and Scosche.
Flu bug bites Target, too
Target has joined the growing ranks of retailers and clinic operators nationwide looking to capitalize on the public’s paranoia regarding the H1N1 flu virus.
Seasonal flu vaccinations have become available at Target Pharmacy stores around the country, the retailer announced Monday.
Target said vaccinations began Sunday and will be available at the pharmacies every day during pharmacy hours throughout the flu season, administered by pharmacists for $24.
“Target Pharmacy is a convenient, affordable option for patients looking to keep themselves and their families healthy this flu season,” Target SVP Keri Jones said in a statement. “By offering vaccinations with no appointment necessary, Target aims to make parents’ lives a little easier.”
Earlier this month, Target announced that their stores and clinics would provide vaccinations for customers.
