Hhgregg to expand in Va.
Indianapolis Appliance and electronics retailer Hhgregg is gearing up to expand in Virginia this spring.
The company is currently looking to fill approximately 100 positions for two stores scheduled to open in Virginia Beach and Newport News, Va. Hhgregg expects to hire about 50 employees for each new store.
The company issued a statement that it is only accepting applications online.
SuperValu names merchandising exec
Minneapolis SuperValu said Friday it has named Steve Jungmann as its new executive VP merchandising.
Jungmann, 47, most recently served as senior VP consumer sales and marketing at the Solo Cup Co. in Highland Park, Ill. He will join SuperValu in early February and report to Craig Herkert, CEO and president.
Marcy Syms elected chairman of Syms Corp.
Secaucus, N.J. Syms Corp. announced that Marcy Syms, president and CEO, has been elected to the additional post of chairman of the board. The announcement was made following the board’s meeting Thursday.
Syms succeeds her father, Sy Syms, who was the founder of Syms and chairman of Syms Corp. until his death in November.
She joined family-owned Syms Clothing in 1978.
