Hillsdale Shopping Center embarks on major renovations
San Mateo, Calif. — Hillsdale Shopping Center, located in San Mateo, Calif., is currently undergoing an extensive 80,000-sq.-ft. renovation to an area previously occupied by Mervyn’s.
The transformation will feature San Mateo County’s first Cheesecake Factory, a two-story Forever 21, and H&M as anchors of the center’s south end.
Hillsdale South is also seeing significant changes with the arrival of DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse and a recently opened Old Navy. In addition, personal care retailer Kiehl’s and Kay Jewelers have joined the center, and Children’s Place has completed a renovation.
Hillsdale Shopping Center is anchored by Nordstrom, Macy’s and Sears.
Joint venture to develop Spring Creek Outlets of Chicago
New Lenox, Ill. — Urban Retail Properties, LLC, Center Creek Development, LLC and Mansur & Co. announced Wednesday a joint venture to build, lease and manage Spring Creek Outlets of Chicago, located in New Lenox, Ill.
The ground-up development is the anchor of a one million-sq.-ft. mixed-use development scheduled for a grand opening in second quarter 2013. The $225 million outlet shopping center development will include 550,000 sq. ft. of outlet shopping, and will feature several hotels, restaurants, entertainment uses, a senior assisted living facility and highly visible and accessible retail.
Tory Burch to open at Town Center at Boca Raton
Boca Raton, Fla. — Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group said Tuesday that Tory Burch will open a new boutique at Town Center at Boca Raton. The new 2,600-sq.-ft. store is slated to open in early August.
It will be the company’s 53rd boutique.
Town Center at Boca Raton features such retailers as Coach, Tiffany & Co., Bvlgari, Cartier, Ulysse Nardin, Michael Kors, Williams-Sonoma, Intermix, Pottery Barn, Ann Taylor, Louis Vuitton, Origins, Juicy Couture, Godiva Chocolatier, abercrombie, anne fontaine and Brookstone, as well as anchor stores Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Sears.
