Home South to open store in Rock Hill Galleria center

Smithfield, N.C. – Home South, a specialty home furnishings chain operated by Carolina Pottery, is opening a 30,000-sq.-ft. store in the Rock Hill Galleria shopping center in Rock Hill, South Carolina, in the fall. Rock Hill Galleria is anchored by Belk, Sears and J.C. Penney, plus offers a variety of specialty stores including Victoria’s Secret, Aeropostale, Hot Topic, Yankee Candle, rue21, Kay Jewelers and Bath & Body Works.

"We are thrilled to be opening our second Home South store at Rock Hill Galleria,” said Grady Marsh of Home South. “Our company is headquartered in York County, and we operated a Carolina Pottery store for years on Carowinds Boulevard, so we are very excited to once again have a retail presence in York County. We feel Rock Hill Galleria is the perfect regional destination for our business, and we look forward to serving the needs of the surrounding communities."

JLL partners with Teen Vogue for back-to-school promo

Atlanta — Participating JLL-managed centers across the country will be hosting back-to-school events in August, as part of a partnership with Teen Vogue.
Teen Vogue Back-To-School Saturdays (BTSS) feature teen-oriented retailer sales promotions, entertainment, fashion shows, music, food and giveaways. The multi-platform initiative involves all of Teen Vogue’s assets in print, digital, social, mobile and event marketing.

“Creating compelling back-to-school programming is so important for our shopping centers and the Teen Vogue Back-To-School Saturdays events will give our consumers an experience that can’t be matched online,” said Julie Rickey, director of property marketing for JLL Retail. “We expect this programming to increase traffic and sales in our properties during this key sales period before we head into the holiday shopping season.”

To further enhance the shopping experience in their bricks-and-mortar locations, JLL developed a complementary My Day, My Way social media promotion to award shoppers with a VIP experience at their local BTSS events. For example, the VIP prize package at Rosedale Center in Roseville, Minnesota, will include a makeover (haircut, style, color and makeup), a one-hour $250 shopping spree in a store of the winner’s choice and two round-trip airline tickets on Spirit Airlines.

Central Mall in Fort Smith, Arkansas, will offer their VIP winner a limo ride to the BTSS event, $400 in retailer gift cards, a beauty makeover by MAC Cosmetics, dinner at a Central Mall restaurant and a treat from Dairy Queen.

The Fresh Market to open this fall at The Village at Livingston

Livingston, New Jersey — The Fresh Market will open a 23,000-sq.-ft. store at The Village at Livingston (New Jersey), occupying a portion of the center’s former Pathmark store. The store is slated to open fall 2014.

The 93,000-sq.-ft. shopping center, which is managed and developed by Eastman Companies of Livingston, features tenants Olive Garden, GameStop, Wine Legend, Karate USA, Hudson City Savings and Zen Japanese Cuisine.

The Livingston store represents The Fresh Market’s third New Jersey location, following previous openings in Bedminster and Montvale.
