J.Jill teams with Alliance Data for private label credit-card services

Dallas — Alliance Data Systems Corp., a provider of loyalty and marketing solutions derived from transaction-rich data, said Tuesday it has signed a new, long-term agreement to provide private label credit-card services to women’s apparel retailer J.Jill.

Under terms of the agreement, Alliance Data will provide private label credit-card services for the J.Jill credit card, including account acquisition and activation, receivables funding, card authorization, private label credit-card issuance, statement generation, remittance processing, customer service functions, and marketing services.

Additionally, Alliance Data said it purchased J.Jill’s existing file of private label credit-card accounts, acquiring a moderate size portfolio in the $50 million range.

Details of the purchase price were not disclosed.

SAS acquires marketing resource management firm Assetlink

Cary, N.C. — Business analytics software and service provider SAS announced Tuesday that it is acquiring Assetlink, a marketing resource management firm.

According to SAS, combining its customer intelligence offerings with Assetlink’s marketing resource management solutions into an integrated marketing management platform will make it easier for marketers to plan, create and optimize marketing programs. With Assetlink, SAS helps manage and optimize marketing operations through more efficient asset management, increased measurement capabilities and improved financial reporting.

The acquisition positions SAS as a leader within integrated marketing management.

Chico’s names exec VP/COO

Fort Myers, Fla. — Chico’s FAS announced Tuesday that it has appointed Kent A. Kleeberger to the position of executive VP, COO.

Kleeberger will replace Jeffrey A. Jones, who is retiring from the company effective March 7. Jones will serve as part-time consultant to the company during a transition period.

Kleeberger, 58, has served as executive VP-finance and CFO of Chico’s FAS since joining the company in November 2007. Previously, he was senior VP and CFO for Dollar Tree Stores.

Chico’s said it has retained an executive recruitment firm to conduct a nationwide search for a CFO, a search that will include internal candidates. Kleeberger will remain the company’s principal financial and accounting officer until a replacement is named.
